Our Approach to Therapy for Body Image and Disordered Eating

We utilize a Health and Every Size (HAES) and Intuitive Eating informed approach to support clients who are struggling with body image, self-esteem, and disordered relationships with food.

In short, that means we want equal acceptance, physical care, and compassion to be shown to all bodies. We also understand that each person’s bodily experience - both how it feels within someone’s body and how society responds to that body - is different. Together, we’ll explore what it means to trust and nourish our bodies in a society that perpetuates the exact opposite approach.

Our therapists believe:

  1. All body shapes, sizes, types, and ability statues deserve dignity and respect

  2. True emotional, mental, and physical care for our bodies comes from a place of compassion, not shame

  3. We can learn to find peace and safety in our bodies just as we can learn to find peace and safety in our relationships

Society has perpetuated judgement and harm towards bodies, and you are not responsible for undoing that alone. Let’s come together to create a relationship with your body that is powered by authentic you and you alone.
