how do you take care of yourself on heavy days?

I love time to myself to reload and refresh. I love bubble baths, movie nights, and painting on canvases. I also love calling my Mom as she is such a strong support system for me.

what’s your favorite part of being a therapist?

Being with you in the hard and helping you celebrate the great. It is really an honor to be let into someone’s story and their life, and to help carry the load so it’s not as heavy is truly such a rewarding feeling.

favorite movie?

Hard to pick just one but I think the one I will never be sick of is The Sound of Music. The songs and the time period are just too good and I get so invested every time I watch it.

favorite podcast?

We can do hard things with Glennon Doyle and Abby Wambach.

how do you get involved in issues of social justice, equity, and community activism?

Activism can be smaller things like having difficult conversations with family or close friends or something on a larger scale like being a part of marches and protests. I try to stay educated on the latest policy work and decisions being made in our country and to find ways to help myself and clients cope with injustice and oppression. I know my limit with how much I can ingest a day surrounding these issues as burnout and hopelessness can be overwhelming. It is a balance. The biggest thing is continuing to vote and encouraging others around me to do the same.

how would your friends and family describe you?

Loving, funny, caring, and empathic.

what tv show will you watch over and over?

New Girl and Grey’s Anatomy!

what’s your biggest pet peeve?

When people litter, it never makes any sense to me, and makes me very irritated.

where would you take a friend visiting denver for the first time?

I would take them on a walk in Wash Park or around Sloan's Lake, visit some breweries in RINO, and finish off the afternoon with a walk along the art district.
